Maintaining and Retaining
Folio is your partner in creating an environment of professional growth and learning. Our framework and platform empower school leaders to help their teachers thrive. With many schools reconvening and setting their sights on intentionally building organizational culture, Folio presents an opportunity to reflect on the year and look to the future. Join us for connection, conversation, and recharging at our Summer Leadership Retreat. Along with convening our exceptional Collaborative network, we will facilitate important and current conversations surrounding the future of maintaining and retaining your school’s team of educators.

“Folio Summer Institute is the place to build your network and find inspiration for the new year. This event is not about the platform, it is about the people. You will not be disappointed!”

George McDowell, Heritage Hall

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the schedule?
Our curriculum is designed to help participants foster a culture of professional growth for their schools that lasts. Programming will run from Monday morning through Wednesday afternoon.
What can I expect from Summer Leadership Retreat 2023?
“SI is unlike any conference you will go to. It is not just sit and get, but rather you build a network of colleagues to help you through your own issues at your school. The relationships and feedback I received is extremely helpful, and I will take it back to my school to implement for this year.”
Our goals are inspired by our company values, which we live by every day: “I connected with folks, made new colleagues, and practiced effective collaboration skills. I have concrete tools and plans that I can take back and implement at my school. I actually had fun.”
Will there be training on the myFolio platform?
We will provide you with tools and frameworks for developing professional growth strategies and suggestions for implementing in the platform. There are also opportunities for individual meetings with the Folio team.
Do I have to stay at Lansdowne Resort?
We highly recommend staying at Lansdowne to maximize opportunities to connect and have fun with other collaborative members outside of session time. Enjoy on-site amenities like their stunning pools, fitness center, and spa. You receive a discounted rate through our special registration link.

Catalyzing Culture: Unlocking myFolio to deepen connection and belonging
At times like this, we need to gather.
Together
to make sense of what we’ve been through, turning reflection into conviction, and finding ways to rethink, together;
to share our stories and celebrate wins;
to laugh and rejuvenate;
to leverage myFolio’s potential for connection and belonging; to create a space where faculty and staff feel seen and known, centered and effective, connected and included, curious and energized, fulfilled, joyful, and satisfied;
to collaborate as leaders, clarifying our intentions and charting paths for our vision to manifest in daily interactions, meetings, conversations, and myFolio.
If you are in search of a collective
experience, then join us.
Folio site administrators, supervisors of faculty and staff, leaders of
adult learning, and department chairs, this event is for you.

What are the practices we use to connect, converse, and see our capability and the impact of our efforts on students?
What are the mindsets, skill sets and habits of leaders who center adult learning and connection despite the many demands?

Fierce Conversations
Consider staying on after to hone your Fierce Conversation skills!
This moment has re-taught us the power of relationships. After many months of stress, uncertainty and change, leaders face frayed emotions and a decline in conversation skills in their communities. Fierce Conversations® teach leaders how to have conversations that enrich relationships by igniting productive dialogue, interrogating reality, provoking learning, and resolving tough challenges. Participants will leave this training with the skills to fully engage in real conversations with peers, parents, colleagues, and students. Based on the book Fierce Conversations by Susan Scott, the workshop is adapted by Folio facilitators based on their experience as educators and school leaders. Designed as a facilitated conversation between professionals, the workshop offers opportunities for discussion, experimentation, coaching, and ‘real play’—not role play.
